Record High Temperatures When?

Editor@TheIndependentDaily.com

Allegedly temperatures this year went “through the roof” globally. Yet regardless of what is being reported, there were no records set based on the official data of all sources to which we have access. (Perhaps there’s a secret government database from which these reported statistics are culled...) In fact, with rare exception, High Temp records predominantly fall prior to the turn of this century. Let’s take a look at Los Angeles, as an example (data taken from sources updated through August, 2016):

Scanning down the column, Record High, none have been reported this century to-date. How about Chicago?

None here, either. Maybe Miami?

One record set November 2002. Perhaps Phoenix?

August, 2003: A new High. Seattle must be experiencing Record Heat?

March, 2004 set a record Heat indicator.

Throughout the data there are no indications of Record Temperatures being set this year, last year, or for that matter, rarely in the last 16 years (since the beginning of this millennium). We are not Global Warming nay-sayers, but, like many of you, confused by the contradictions between the blathering of reporters and the data that clearly shows no substantial difference in Record Temperatures, where in some cases, Highs set early in the last century remain unchallenged.

So, if it feels hotter to you this year, it’s probably because you have been repeatedly told that it’s hotter this year, even though it is not “Record Heat.”  We tend to believe what we hear when stated as fact: Sometimes the data tells us differently. That’s how we ended up in Iraq.
