If #BlackLivesMatter, Why Do They Kill Each Other at Such an Alarming Rate?

Joseph Warren, Editor

I am not condoning the murder of innocent people, but I think there is an absence of complete truth to today’s reporting of crimes against African Americans by America’s police departments. Maybe it’s just the whole picture that’s missing: What we all need in order to evaluate the extent to which America is decaying, if at all, and to better understand what needs to be done.

Here are some data points for you to consider:

About 13% of Americans are Black. Yet some aberrant portion of that 13% is responsible for about 52.5% of Murders in America, the victims of which were 93% Black. All this according to the Bureau of Justice Statistics. Everybody knows this; it’s not a secret, but it is something Black people don’t want to talk about. It’s much easier to foment rage at the local police, and incite further violence than to deal as a disparate community in addressing the issues that have served as the catalyst for this social anomaly.

From 2011 to 2013, 38.5% of people arrested for Murder, Manslaughter, Rape, Robbery, and Aggravated Assault were Black. As a race, this ought to be a Call to Arms for America’s Black Ministers and Community Leaders to more accurately focus on a tide of behavior that does nothing but subjectively provide justification for the actions of the few against Blacks today.

Here’s an excerpt from “Table 7” in the referenced report:

What’s caused this alarming disproportionality? In my opinion, an unholy alliance of Victimization, Poverty, Lack of Opportunity, Collapse of our Educational System, Diminishing Respect for all Humanity, and most importantly, being taught that Violence is the first approach to the resolution of conflict, by our government, and perpetuated by the Popular Media.
